Thonis Wine Rack And Table

Specs:

30" x 66" x 30" tall table (modified size from the original which was 18" x 69" x 36" tall).

7.5" x 16.375" x 60" tall wine rack.

Both pieces fabricated from 3/4" square tube and 1/4" round wire with 3/4" glass top and aluminum powder coat finish.

Spacing between glass top and top of frame is 3/4". 

SPO to the inch and color. Table is GR1085, wine rack is GR1086

The Story:

This table and wine rack were designed for a client's kitchen picture window on Columbus Circle in Manhattan in September of 2009. They knew what they wanted, but couldn't find anything they liked. I drew inspiration from their amazing view overlooking Central Park and the city's architecture. 

The innovation came out of the necessity for the rear legs to be removable. When installed in the window, the table is bracketed to the window transom and the wine rack sits on the curb. The legs were made removable so that if the owners decided to move they wouldn't have to leave their custom table and wine rack. I designed the detail into the leg to make the connection point for the removable legs invisible.
